PVC Roof Repair and Restoration

PVC Roof Coating restores Chick-Fil-A Roof

by Alex on May 7, 2007

Altlanta, GA – Chick-Fil-A has recently completed restoration of their PVC roof with Lexis roof coatings.

PVC Roof Repair Process

Existing Condition

The PVC roof is more than 10 years old;  chalking with mild crazing and has recurring, difficult to find roof leaks.

Chick-Fil-A wanted a permanent solution to roof leaks at the same time, extend the life of the roof to avoid costly and disruptive roof replacement.

Surface Preparation

The entire PVC roof was pressure washed to remove dirt and debris. The entire roof was primed with PrimeLock® Neoprene Primer to lock up any residual chalking and promote adhesion. Prevailing winds prevented an airless sprayer application.

Leakproofing / Waterproofing

Seams along the perimeter and airconditioning units were sealed with 6” SeamStitch® Polyester Roofing Fabric. EnergyGuard® Aromatic Polyurethane Roof Coating was used to secure the fabric to the roof. It provides a reinforced membrane along high stress areas.

Roof Coating Application

2 coats of EnergyGuard® Aromatic Polyurethane Roof Coating was applied on the entire roof using a 3000 psi airless sprayer. A seamless roofing membrane now covers the old, leaky roof.

Roof Repair … Done Right!
